People & Culture Manager
A leading law firm has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced People & Culture Manager to join them for a 12 month FTC. Reporting to the COO, this role will work closely with senior leadership to shape culture, strengthen organisational capability, and deliver a high-quality, consistent people experience.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the delivery of core HR operations, ensuring processes are efficient, compliant and commercially aligned
- Acting as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders on day-to-day HR matters, including performance, employee relations and best practice
- Supporting recruitment across both fee-earning and business services populations, including graduate and early careers programmes
- Developing and embedding career development frameworks and progression pathways across the organisation
- Driving performance management activity and supporting managers to build effective coaching and leadership capability
- Designing and implementing learning and development programmes aligned to business needs
- Owning and optimising the HR system to enhance data integrity, reporting and employee self-service
- Contributing to the evolution of the firm’s employee value proposition and retention strategies
- Supporting the delivery of a clear and intentional culture agenda, aligned to values and business priorities
- Leading wellbeing initiatives to support a positive, inclusive and sustainable working environment
- Line management of a junior HR team member
Candidate profile:
- Proven HR experience within a professional services environment (ideally legal)
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment legislation
- CIPD qualified (Level 5 or equivalent)
- Credible, pragmatic and confident operating with senior stakeholders
- Able to balance operational delivery with longer-term strategic initiatives
- Proactive, adaptable and comfortable working autonomously
