Senior Business Development & Marketing Manager, Litigation

12-Month Fixed Term Contract

Leading global law firm

London based

Hybrid working (3 days in office, 2 from home)

My client is a leading international law firm with a strong global presence and an ambitious growth agenda. The firm is recognised for its collaborative culture and commitment to developing its people, providing business services professionals with the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to commercial decision-making and long-term business objectives. They are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Business Development & Marketing Manager to join their global Litigation practice on a 12-month fixed term contract.

Working closely with partners, lawyers and business services colleagues across multiple jurisdictions, this role will lead the planning and delivery of business development and marketing activity for one of the firm's key global practice groups. The position offers a mix of strategic input, team leadership and hands-on execution, with significant exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to support the continued growth and profile of the practice internationally.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Leading the development and delivery of business development and marketing plans aligned to practice and firmwide objectives.
  • Managing, coaching and developing a team of Business Development Managers and Executives.
  • Supporting annual business planning and budget management, ensuring activity is focused on strategic priorities.
  • Working closely with partners on client development, client targeting and growth initiatives across priority sectors.
  • Leading and coordinating major panel pitches, proposals and business development opportunities.
  • Driving integrated marketing campaigns, thought leadership programmes and profile-raising initiatives.
  • Overseeing the delivery of seminars, events and client-facing programmes.
  • Collaborating with communications colleagues to strengthen the practice's market profile and positioning.
  • Maintaining effective business development infrastructure, including pitch materials, marketing collateral, client intelligence and contact data.
  • Overseeing legal directory and awards submissions to ensure a consistent, high-quality approach across the practice.
  • Building strong working relationships across the global Disputes group and wider business services functions.

The successful candidate will bring significant business development and marketing experience from a law firm or wider professional services environment. You will have experience across strategic business development, client development, pitching and marketing activity, together with previous people management experience and a track record of building strong relationships with senior stakeholders.

You will be commercially minded, highly organised and confident managing multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, sound judgement and the ability to translate strategic priorities into effective business development activity will be essential.

In return, my client offers the opportunity to join a successful international firm in a visible leadership role with genuine scope to influence and contribute. The package includes a competitive salary, annual bonus, flexible hybrid working, private medical insurance, generous holiday allowance and a comprehensive benefits package.
