Chief Technology Officer | Regional Law Firm
Tunbridge Wells
A highly regarded regional law firm is looking for its first Chief Technology Officer, a genuinely exciting opportunity to shape the firm's technology and data strategy from board level at a time when the legal sector is being reshaped by AI.
Reporting directly to the Senior Partner and working closely with the Management Board, you'll set the vision rather than manage the day-to-day, with a Head of IT Operations in place to run the department while you focus on where technology can genuinely move the needle. That means leading on Generative AI adoption across drafting, research and administrative efficiency, building out a robust data governance framework, and championing a firm-wide digital literacy programme so fee-earners and support staff alike are getting real value from the tools available to them.
This is a role for someone who can operate comfortably at board level, translate complex technical thinking into plain English for partners and stakeholders, and bring people along on a journey of genuine cultural change, not just technological change. You'll need serious credibility as a senior IT leader, ideally gained within legal or another regulated professional services environment, along with strong project governance experience and a track record of delivering AI or data-led initiatives that have made a tangible difference.
If you're looking for a role where you can genuinely shape the technology direction of an ambitious, forward-thinking firm, rather than simply keeping the lights on, this could be the one.
