Totum Partners are delighted to be working with a leading global investment and asset management firm operating at the intersection of finance and the legal sector. With a strong international presence and a reputation for innovation, the business works closely with law firms and corporates to deliver complex financial solutions, manage legal risk, and unlock value from legal assets. The organisation offers a unique combination of institutional scale and entrepreneurial agility, providing high-performing individuals with significant exposure to senior leadership and strategic decision-making.
As part of its continued growth, the firm is seeking a Corporate Development Analyst to join its London-based team. This is a high-impact role within a small, collaborative function responsible for driving the firm’s strategic and investment agenda globally.
The Role
The Corporate Development Analyst will support the identification, evaluation and execution of corporate transactions and strategic initiatives across the business. Working closely with senior leadership, including the Chief Development Officer and Chief Financial Officer, the role offers direct exposure to high-profile decision-making and a wide range of transactions.
The position will involve building and maintaining detailed financial models to assess valuation, returns and capital structure implications, alongside conducting financial, commercial and market due diligence. The successful candidate will support transaction execution, including coordinating advisers, preparing materials for internal approvals and contributing to deal negotiations.
In addition to transactional responsibilities, the role has a strong strategic focus. The candidate will analyse market trends, monitor competitor activity, and prepare insights and reports to inform investment, partnership and broader corporate strategy decisions. They will also contribute to strategic planning initiatives, including capital deployment analysis, Board-level materials and new market assessments.
The role requires close collaboration with internal teams across Finance, Legal, Investment and Business Development, ensuring alignment on corporate initiatives and supporting the efficient execution of projects from inception through to completion.
The Individual
The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years’ experience within investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory, financial due diligence or corporate development. They will possess strong financial modelling and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into clear, actionable recommendations.
A high level of commercial awareness and understanding of corporate finance principles is essential, alongside experience working on transactions and managing multiple workstreams. The successful individual will be confident engaging with senior stakeholders and preparing high-quality materials for decision-making at leadership level.
They will be intellectually curious, proactive and highly organised, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with limited precedent. Strong communication skills, attention to detail and a collaborative mindset are key.
Experience within the legal, financial services or asset management sectors would be advantageous but is not essential.
