Chief Information Officer

We are seeking an experienced Chief Information Officer to lead the technology, data and architecture strategy for a leading global law firm
This is a senior, board-facing role responsible for defining and delivering a firm-wide technology strategy aligned to the business plan. Sitting on the Operations Committee and reporting into the Executive Board, the CIO will act as principal technology adviser to the firm's senior leadership, balancing operational resilience, regulatory compliance and security with innovation, modernisation and value creation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the enterprise-wide technology and information strategy, translating business and client requirements into a clear, prioritised roadmap
- Holding overall accountability for IT and Information Services, including budget, supplier and contract management
- Leading the firm's cloud strategy, enterprise architecture and data platforms, including AI-enabled and automation capabilities
- Holding executive accountability for information security and technology risk, including ownership of ISO 27001 accreditation
- Ensuring robust business continuity and disaster recovery arrangements
The successful candidate will bring significant senior technology leadership experience (CTO, CIO or IT Director level), a proven track record operating at executive or Board level within global professional services or a regulated environment, and demonstrable experience of ISO 27001 accreditation, cloud migration and enterprise architecture. Legal sector experience is strongly preferred.
You will be a credible, commercially astute leader, able to distil complex technical matters into clear business language, and comfortable operating across multiple locations within a matrix structure.
