This is a newly created, client-embedded Legal Project Management (LPM) role at a premier, international law firm.

Working closely with the client partner, this position represents part of a new direction for the firm’s LPM function, allowing those in the team to play an increasingly visible and pivotal role in enhancing client service delivery, driving operational efficiency, and elevating the firm’s LPM capabilities.

This particular role will see the Senior Legal Project Manager work closely with a significant, global client of the firm, building relationships with the client’s General Counsel and legal operations team.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with and influence senior internal and external stakeholders, including the client legal operations team and third party vendors to ensure matter progression and effective communication.

Data and Financial Analysis: Track, analyze and report on matter and client-level budgets including forecasting, trend analysis, profitability assessment and strategic recommendations to improve financial performance.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments such as finance, legal operations, business development, technology, and others to ensure effective coordination and alignment on matter requirements, resources, and objectives.

Mentorship and Team Development: Mentor and coach Legal Project Managers and Analysts, support onboarding and training, and contribute to the continued development of the firm’s LPM strategic evolution.

Core Skills and Qualifications: A minimum of 8 (eight) years in matter management within a law firm with a demonstrable track record of independently managing large, complex matters, combined with direct client management experience, as well as experience in mentoring, coaching and developing junior project management professionals.
