A highly regarded and distinctive London law firm with a strong reputation in the media and creative sectors is seeking a Head of Finance to join its senior leadership team. This is a pivotal role within a collaborative and values-driven firm, offering the opportunity to shape and modernise the finance function while partnering closely with the COO and wider leadership group.
Working closely with the COO and fellow business services leaders, the successful candidate will take ownership of the finance function, overseeing financial control, reporting, compliance, and operational delivery, while also driving a more commercially focused approach across the firm. The role combines hands-on leadership with strategic input, including improving financial visibility, enhancing working capital performance, and embedding a stronger focus on profitability, pricing, and key performance metrics. There is a significant change agenda in place, including ongoing optimisation of the firm’s Elite 3E system, refining team structures and introducing more robust processes and controls to support a modern, high-performing finance function.
The position requires an experienced senior finance professional with a strong grounding in financial accounting within a law firm environment, alongside proven leadership capability. The successful individual will be comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels, with the ability to partner effectively with non-financial stakeholders and provide clear, commercially focused insight to support decision-making. Experience of leading teams, driving process improvement, and working within a professional services or partnership environment is essential, with knowledge of systems such as Elite 3E highly advantageous.
