Totum Partners is delighted to be working with a  leading law firm recruiting a Working Capital Controller.  Your role will be responsible for the whole working capital cycle for all practice areas.  Liaising with partner and fee earners and ensuring they receive timely financial information.

The ideal Working Capital Controller will be responsible for:

  • Meeting with partners at least  to review current matters, ensure pledged bills materialise, and credit control issues are also dealt with
  • Follow-up of action items, such as time transfer, time write off, dispatch of billing guides, disbursements etc
  • Drafting narrative in support of bills, drafting monthly and quarterly bills for clients
  • Preparation and processing of bills
  • Preparation and processing of e-bills
  • Maintenance of billing profile ensuring regular updates to give accurate estimates
  • Keeping partners and clients advised of how fees are being accrued
  • Promoting and creating the use of the Pricing Model and providing appropriate support and assistance
  • Providing technical support to Legal PAs if required
  • Flag any debtor issues to partners that may be impacting the Lock-Up profile to ensure the partner is informed of any exposures
  • Working closely with partners on credit control issues to unlock debts
  • Ensuring all the financial aspects of new matter set-ups are correctly completed

The ideal Working Capital Controller will have:

  • Experience in Revenue Control or Billing within a legal or professional services firm
    • Excellent communicator and confident in interaction with others
    • Able to multi-task to meet deadlines
    • Good influencing skills
    • Good numeracy and literacy skills
    • Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook
    • Experience in a legal practice management system
