This is an opportunity to work in a Big 4 accounting firm in this pivotal role in ensuring the winning of strategic work.

The Senior Pursuits Manager has a vital role to play in the growth of this firm’s Government practice by working directly with divisional Partners and staff to ensure the delivery of the firm’s vision and Government growth strategy.

With a prime focus on strategic pursuits (circa 70%) followed by managing the eventual bids to win work (circa 30%), this is a well balanced role which would suit either:

– a generalist BD manager/senior manager seeking to specialise, or

– an existing pursuits manager seeking a step up.

Business development and sales enablement are key elements of the firm’s drive to maintain growth and embed a winning culture, based on people’s mindset, skillset and discipline.

The role’s primary focus will be to work with Partners and staff pursuing opportunities in the Government practice and working collaboratively to drive and develop a range of business development activities. This is largely achieved by providing advice and support to teams pursuing new opportunities, ongoing priority account management and converting targets to new clients.  There will be a secondary focus on the Audit business – also focused on long-term strategic pursuits.

Who should apply?

You will be experienced in winning work and pursuits in a professional services environment, either through a specialist or broader BD role.  You will be a well-rounded coach and mentor of senior leaders. You will need a strong, practical and tenacious manner, to navigate and influence multiple stakeholders.

You will ideally bring experience in Miller Heiman pursuit and opportunity methodologies, though this is not essential. You will bring strong influencing skills and the ability to interact with impact with senior leaders.

Your excellent communication skills are essential as is the ability to liaise, influence, challenge effectively and build relationships at senior management, peer group and team level.  A confident, proactive ‘can-do approach’ will also assist your application.  You will be client-centric, commercial and demonstrate good judgement.
