Totum Partners are delighted to be working with a leading international law firm and assisting with the recruitment of a Senior Business Manager. This is a newly created role and aims to provide assistance to Practice Group Heads and the primary goal is to advance agreed-upon business objectives, while ensuring the company's profitability and competitiveness are maintained.
In collaboration with a Practice Group Head and an Executive Board member, the role involves managing the lifecycle of constructing/renewing, reviewing, and agreeing on business plans and associated budgets. The focus then shifts to coordinating the implementation of the agreed plans, ensuring goals are achieved within specified timeframes and budget constraints. This includes developing key metrics dashboards, reporting templates, and action trackers. The role also involves commissioning management and business intelligence reports, analysing data related to resources and performance metrics, and facilitating income increase and profit margin improvement.
The ideal candidate should possess strong commercial acumen, preferably acquired through experience in the legal or accounting sectors within a finance or finance-related role. They should demonstrate excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, interacting effectively with diverse stakeholders and subject matter experts to drive change. While a project management qualification is beneficial, it is not mandatory. The candidate should be tech-savvy, prioritize a digital-first mindset, and exhibit superior time management and organizational skills. The ability to handle multiple responsibilities concurrently, meet deadlines, and take accountability for actions from conception to delivery is crucial. The candidate should be capable of working independently, demonstrating initiative, and collaborating effectively within a team.
