Totum Partners is working with a leading law firm to recruit a revenue controller to work alongside the billing team and report directly to the revenue manager within the finance team. The role involves WIP management and Credit Control for specific practice groups. Duties include
The ideal Revenue Controller will be responsible for:
- Taking responsibility for cash collection targets.
- Handling client queries on invoicing and liaising with clients daily about unpaid invoices.
- Meeting with partners to ensure time is recorded accurately, following our policy.
- Attend meetings with partners to review WIP and unpaid invoices, agree on actions, and follow up.
- Coordinating with partners, PAs, and the Billing team to ensure timely preparation of prebills and prompt dispatch of final invoices.
- Managing billing against budgets and targets.
- Updating ARCS daily with notes on unbilled WIP and unpaid invoices, creating billing and cash collection reports.
- Taking responsibility for cash collection targets.
- Handling client queries on invoicing and liaising with clients daily about unpaid invoices.
- Escalating issues as needed according to company policies.
The ideal Revenue Controller will have:
- Experience as a Revenue Controller in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Strong skills in billing, VAT, disbursements, and credit control.
- Ability to build relationships with fee earners to manage the full capital cycle from time recording to cash.
- Familiarity with ARCS and Aderant is a plus but not required.
