The Management Accountant is a pivotal role in the Finance team as you will be solely responsible for producing internal management information in a fast-paced but friendly and rewarding environment. You will review work produced by the Trainee Accountant and build on this to produce accurate and vital internal reports. 

Reporting into the Financial Controller, they are looking for someone who is able to demonstrate initiative and have as pro-active approach. This a great team to work in and offer complete agile working. 

Some of the key areas of responsibility for the Management Accountant are:

  • Production of monthly management accounts for distribution to Partners and Senior Management
  • Review of monthly accounting adjustments including accruals and prepayments, depreciation etc
  • Preparation of monthly departmental financial reports
  • Production of quarterly profit sharing accounts for the Equity Partners
  • Production of quarterly internal accounts for the two overseas entities
  • Quarterly production of full P&L forecast
  • Assist with annual budget preparation
  • Preparation of the firm’s annual LLP accounts
  • Liaise with external auditors to ensure a smooth annual audit
  • Preparation of the annual accounts and responsible for statutory/tax filings for twooverseas entitiesOther:
  • Preparation and entry of payroll journals, and monitoring actual salary costs vs budget
  • Deal with ad-hoc information requests from Fee Earners and Departmental Heads
  • Ad-hoc support to the Financial Controller

What they are looking for:

  • Full accountancy qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ICAEW)
  • Strong technical accounting experience, including experience producing management accounts and other internal management information
  • Experience in a professional service firm would be ideal but not essential
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • A professional, positive, enthusiastic and quality-focused approach
  • An eye for detail with excellent time management and organisation skills
