In anticipation of the retirement of the present incumbent, Leigh Day is looking to recruit a new HR Director.  This high profile role, which reports to the Managing Partner, will lead on the formulation and delivery of the firm’s people strategy. The HR function at the firm is more than 20 people strong and, via four senior direct reports covering HR Operations, Recruitment, Learning & Development and HR Projects, the HR Director will lead a team that delivers a full HR service to the firm.

Working as part of the firm’s senior management structure the HR Director will provide input into the firm’s strategic goals and be responsible for fostering a culture that celebrates and supports the development and wellbeing of individuals in all aspects of their professional lives.

Candidates for this role will have experience of leading a people team, preferably at a law firm or similar professional services organisation, within a dynamic environment.  The post requires someone who is able to provide strategic direction on people issues to the Management Board and the Partnership whilst coaching and supporting the HR team day to day.  You will have direct experience of improving business effectiveness through organisational development and culture change.

The role is likely to be based in London but will require regular travel to the firm’s other offices, particularly Manchester and Leeds.
