HR Business Partner - 6 month FTC

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR Business Partner to support Business Services in a leading international law firm on a 6 month FTC. You’ll partner senior stakeholders, provide pragmatic employee relations and advisory support, and deliver people initiatives in a regulated, high-performance environment.

Role Purpose

You’ll be the go-to HR partner for Business Services leaders, translating business needs into clear, deliverable people solutions. This is a hands-on role covering the full employee lifecycle, with strong stakeholder management and sound judgement at its core.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner senior Business Services stakeholders as a trusted adviser and constructive challenger.
  • Deliver people plans aligned to business goals, coordinating input from HR specialist teams.
  • Lead on ER matters (including investigations), ensuring fair, consistent and compliant outcomes.
  • Coach managers on performance, conduct, capability and organisational change.
  • Drive key people projects and change activity, with clear stakeholder engagement.
  • Support workforce planning, resourcing and talent/succession discussions where needed.
  • Contribute to pay/bonus activity and reward decisions for relevant groups.

Compliance

  • Work in line with UK employment law and internal policy.
  • Operate within relevant professional/regulatory standards (including SRA principles where applicable).

About you

  • CIPD qualified (or equivalent experience).
  • Solid UK employment law knowledge and confident ER case management.
  • Proven HRBP experience partnering senior stakeholders (professional services/regulatory environment preferred).
  • Commercial, pragmatic and able to influence and challenge with credibility.
  • Hands-on generalist across the employee lifecycle; comfortable with change and multiple priorities.
