Totum Partners are delighted to be working exclusively with a leading international law firm and assisting in the recruitment of a Head of Pricing. The main purpose of this role will be to develop and lead a pricing team and to develop a pricing strategy that aligns with the overall firm strategy and enhances client profitability.
The role involves recruiting and developing a commercial pricing team while working closely with the CFO and Financial Controller to establish and implement a modern pricing strategy. This includes enhancing pricing and client profitability reporting to drive financial performance, assessing the need for a European pricing committee, and integrating appropriate pricing software for greater efficiency. A key focus is on modernising pricing approaches, including alternative billing methods beyond hourly rates and evaluating the impact of AI and automation on pricing new products and services. The role also supports partners in pricing negotiations for bids and pitches, builds strong relationships with key stakeholders and conduct financial modelling to improve pricing analytics and cost predictions. Additional responsibilities include developing reporting tools to analyse pricing performance, reviewing past pricing agreements for profitability improvements, coaching partners on pricing strategies and overseeing the firm’s annual rate review process.
This senior role within the finance team requires prior experience in a similar corporate environment and a strong background in strategic pricing within professional services. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of business strategy, commercial insight to drive the pricing agenda with proven leadership skills in managing and developing teams in complex settings. Strong stakeholder management, interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with excellent commercial judgment and a proactive, team-oriented approach.
