A fantastic newly created opportunity for an experienced Head of Operations to join a high performing professional services firm in Bristol. This is a pivotal appointment, with a broad remit across operational excellence, process improvement and business support service delivery.

Reporting to the Chief Executive and sitting on the leadership team, you will take ownership of the firm’s operational framework and ensure business support services are aligned to strategic priorities, scalable growth and an exceptional client experience.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Operational leadership: set the operating rhythm, standards and measures of success; translate business goals into clear plans and priorities.
  • Service delivery & continuous improvement: ensure smooth day-to-day operations and drive improvements in efficiency and client experience.
  • Technology, automation & process optimisation: identify opportunities for process redesign, systems enhancement and automation to improve performance.
  • Data, reporting & decision support: strengthen MI and reporting to enable timely, actionable insight.
  • Governance, risk & suppliers: oversee operational risk controls, supplier relationships, business continuity planning and due diligence processes.

About you

  • Proven senior operations leadership within professional services (or similar), spanning business management, change and organisational development.
  • Demonstrable experience of automation and process re-engineering, with the credibility to implement change in a regulated environment.
  • Strong programme/project leadership skills, able to structure and deliver complex initiatives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management; able to build trust with Partners, fee-earners and support teams.
  • Hands-on and pragmatic, with high standards, strong attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Resilient, collaborative and organised; comfortable juggling competing priorities.
