Totum Partners are working with an ambitious, London-based UK law firm in its search for a new Head of Finance. Forming part of the Management Committee and reporting into the Managing Partner, this is the most senior accountant position in the firm and seen as an important, strategic hire by the firm.
The past two years has seen the firm going through a period of transformation. During this time there has been a newly appointed Managing Partner, the firm has moved its London office, a new Practice Management System has been implemented and a major overhaul of the IT systems has taken place. The appetite for further improvement and change remains and the new Head of Finance will be looked upon to make improvements to the management information being supplied to the Management Committee, acted as an executive business partner to all the firm’s Partners and help the Managing Partner to drive and implement the firm’s ambitious growth strategy. Any recent growth has been sustainable and not purely for growth’s sake but in line with the strategic aims of the partnership, the Head of Finance will be integral to continuing this trend.
Applicants should be qualified accountants with excellent leadership qualities and prior experience of working in senior management roles in a professional services partnership environment. As well as being a competent financial steward, the role holder will need to have excellent communication skills, particularly in translating financial terminology into an understandable format for non-accounting colleagues.
