Head of Data 

 

 

We are delighted to be working exclusively with this leading UK-based Law firm on the recruitment of their first Head of Data.

 

A great opportunity to play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of data, empowering the organisation to confidently make data-driven decisions. Your responsibilities will be leading the information and data management efforts, fostering trust and maximising the value of data assets.

 

To succeed in this role, you will need a strong background in data management, governance, and strategy. You should be adept at designing and implementing data management frameworks and have experience with cloud technologies, particularly Microsoft-based systems. Strong leadership and influencing skills are essential to secure buy-in from directors, senior managers, and senior practice stakeholders.

Key duties will include:

  • Identifying primary data sources and content collections from the organisation's data assets.
  • Establishing and integrating a governance framework that is adaptable, scalable, and responsive.
  • Collaborating with knowledge professionals, finance, and other stakeholders to define and oversee the organisation's fundamental vocabularies and taxonomies.
  • Developing and supervising Microsoft-based data management systems utilising cloud technologies, aligning with the company's cloud-first approach.
  • Establishing a dedicated team to ensure the integrity of the data service.
  • Initiating transformative efforts by implementing comprehensive data lifecycle initiatives throughout the organisation and promoting information literacy as a core competency. 
  • Creating a team and operational model that enables the timely and accurate dissemination of high-quality information to the appropriate individuals and locations.

This role can be based on any regional offices, including Birmingham, Nottingham, London, Bristol, Sheffield, Derby, Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, and Glasgow.
