I am delighted to be working with a leading international UK law firm and assisting in the recruitment of a Head of Commercial Finance and Pricing.

 

The Commercial Finance team, situated within the wider Finance department, is characterized by ambition, inclusivity, and a sense of enjoyment. Their mission centres on the delivery of rapid and transparent insights to nurture the firm's expansion and provide backing to the exceptional workforce. The team excels in collaboration and constantly seeks new pathways to broaden their impact across the organization. Whether it's the optimization of pricing, the augmentation of profitability, or the meticulous planning of resources, the Commercial Finance team consistently leads the way in these endeavours.

 

In this role, you will lead the Commercial Finance team responsible for the financial management information suite, playing a pivotal role in advancing strategic objectives. Your key responsibilities include collaborating closely with the CFO to develop financial metrics and tools that bolster financial reporting, drive profitability growth, refine pricing strategies, and foster innovation. You will also engage with the UK Operations board to contribute to the successful execution of critical financial and resourcing initiatives, take charge of the annual budgeting and forecasting process, and lead efforts to review and enhance our approach to pricing and client profitability reporting, ultimately propelling the firm's financial performance. Moreover, you will take ownership of developing and implementing a pricing strategy, leveraging the team's expertise, and building strong relationships with senior management and the partnership to secure their unwavering support. Additionally, you will assist the firm-wide practice management project team in ensuring the seamless implementation and enhancement of the firm's future financial reporting systems. Your ability to swiftly earn the confidence and respect of the UK leadership team, UK Partners, and relevant stakeholders across the firm will be essential in this dynamic and impactful role.

 

The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of business strategy, combined with expertise in business and services management. They should also have a strong track record of line management, showcasing their ability to lead successful teams in complex business settings. Furthermore, they should excel in building relationships at all levels and effectively managing stakeholders, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills in both written and oral forms. Additionally, they should demonstrate outstanding commercial judgment.
