A leading specialist law firm is seeking a Global Facilities Director to be responsible for managing its office footprint across multiple jurisdictions. The role ensures the property portfolio supports operational and strategic objectives, with a focus on commercial lease management, negotiation, and strategic real estate planning.
The successful candidate will be an experienced Facilities or Real Estate leader with strong knowledge of commercial lease structures, landlord negotiations, global property markets, and the operational demands of a large professional services environment.
This leadership role involves managing a global, cross-jurisdictional team to deliver projects and foster collaboration across business services teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership and Strategy:
- Lead the global Facilities team and set strategic direction aligned with organisational goals
- Promote a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement
- Develop and manage a high-performing team of regional leads and office managers
- Collaborate with HR, IT, Risk, and leadership on space planning and workplace design
- Oversee office openings, refits, relocations, and refurbishment projects
Property and Lease Management:
- Lead lease negotiations for new spaces, renewals, and optimisation initiatives
- Manage and review all commercial lease agreements globally
- Negotiate service contracts and vendor agreements for best terms
Facilities Management:
- Oversee facilities operations including maintenance, cleaning, catering, post, print, records, and courier services
- Align facilities strategy with leadership for cost-effective solutions
- Manage global facilities budget and produce performance reports
- Deliver facilities projects in line with strategic plans
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience managing high-end premises and facilities in a professional services environment
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Financial acumen and analytical ability
- Ability to work independently and adapt to change
- Excellent understanding of commercial risk and stakeholder management
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Knowledge of facilities management best practices and supplier management
