Totum are delighted to be supporting this Top 100 firm in their search for a new Financial Reporting Analyst.
They are ideally looking for someone who is AAT or ACCA/CIMA Part Qualified, who has a good understanding of double entry bookkeeping who has experience of working in the Legal Sector or wider professional services.

Overall purpose of the role
To produce accurate, efficient, and insightful financial information reports to support the Management Board and Senior Leadership Team to implement effective business decisions and strategies to enhance overall firm’s performance. The Financial Reporting Analyst has overall accountability for production, analysis, and comments on variances.in financial reports.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare various financial reports and statements on a monthly or quarterly basis, including - maintain and monitor team/department cost reports
  • Monthly and quarterly ONS Surveys
  • Assist in calculation of PSA tax
  • Monitoring and reporting on fee-earner time recording, including variance analysis
  • Assist with Annual Budget schedules, income projections and expenditure forecasts
  • Assist with ‘half year’ financial review schedules to re-project income and costs
  • Assist in Payroll processing.
  • Update and maintain reports for external auditors.
  • Assist in preparing monthly KPI’s
  • Assist in preparing schedules for ‘Work In Process’ (WIP) calculation of the firm to support the FC & MA to improve the accuracy and efficiency of reports and statements

Experience required

  • Degree or AAT qualified (studying towards ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent
  • Demonstrable experience using accounting software packages
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills.
  • Demonstrable experience of manipulating and present data (work or study), including pivot tables, v and h lookups, formulae, and conditional formatting
  • A high level of numeracy
  • Confident communicator able to interact effectively with colleagues across the firm
  • Demonstrable ability to meet challenging and conflicting deadlines to a consistent high standard
  • Demonstrable commitment to providing a first-class service to colleagues within the finance department and across the wider firm
  • Previous experience in a law firm is desirable but not essential
