Thomson Snell & Passmore grows Trust & Tax Management team

Totum is delighted to be partnering with the Kent-based law firm Thomson Snell & Passmore in its search for a new Finance Director (FD). Based out of the Tunbridge Wells office and making up part of the Senior Management Team, this is a board level appointment.

The newly appointed FD will be an integral part of the senior leadership. This includes leading, evolving and implementing the firmwide finance strategy, and, with the Senior Partner and senior leadership of the firm, supporting the Heads of Legal Departments in manifesting and delivering their business plans. The FD will act as the firm’s executive financial business partner, helping partners, and colleagues around the business as and when required, adding financial rigour to ideas about how the firm can continue to increase revenue and profitability.

The FD role leads the finance and IT departments, with a total headcount of 20. Alongside the Head of IT Strategy, the FD will help in the development and implementation of the firm’s IT strategy and projects. The role holder will be leading on and / or sponsoring transformation projects, and enhancing the offering both to their internal and external stakeholders.

Applicants should be qualified accountants (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or international equivalent) with a demonstrable track record of working in senior level managerial roles. Previous experience of working in a partnership environment, ideally within legal services would be ideal although a background in other professional services will also be considered. Excellent communication skills, commercial acumen and strong leadership qualities are all prerequisites.
