I am currently working with a leading UK law firm and supporting them in their search for a Finance Business Partner to support the commercial and financial operations across a dedicated practice group.
The role entails providing comprehensive finance business partnering support to Practice Group Business Manager, covering various commercial and financial aspects within the practice group. This role involves close collaboration with fee earners, partners, colleagues in various finance functions (such as FP&A, Business Management, and Pricing), and key stakeholders in financial control, financial systems, and HR. Key responsibilities encompass a range of activities, including managing month-end tasks, facilitating general HR and business management activities, conducting commercial and financial analysis, participating in planning and budgeting, and optimizing financial systems. The aim is to ensure smooth operations and effective decision-making processes across the practice group, encompassing tasks from monthly financial reviews to annual salary reviews and budget planning, all while fostering data accuracy and accessibility through enhanced financial systems. The Finance Business Partner will also conduct any financial modelling required for potential new lateral hires and also be involved in the provision of any analysis and presentations required for the annual Business Planning cycle whilst also setting and reviewing annual fee earner targets.
Applicants should be Qualified Accountants with at least 3 years PQE working within the legal or professional sector. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to influence key business strategies and initiatives and be able to take a strategic view of the business and impact on finance to improve and deliver a proactive service. Strong commercial awareness is key with experience in understanding complex and diverse business requirements. You must be service oriented with experience of stakeholder management & the potential to establish a polished reputation in the business quickly.
