Events Manager (9‑month fixed‑term contract)

Leading law firm

London

Hybrid working

My client is a well‑established international law firm with a strong and stable London presence, known for its inclusive, people‑focused culture. The firm places real value on collaboration, openness and respect, with business services teams viewed as integral to the success of the office and the wider firm.

The London office has a friendly, collegiate atmosphere, with close working relationships across teams and levels of seniority. Marketing and Business Development operate as trusted partners to the lawyers, and events are treated as a core part of how the firm builds relationships, supports its people and creates meaningful client experiences. This is an environment where events professionals are given responsibility, visibility and the space to do their work properly, supported by experienced colleagues and clear processes.

The role

My client is seeking an Events Manager to join its Marketing and Business Development team on a 9‑month fixed‑term contract. The role has primary responsibility for delivering the London office events programme, with limited involvement in European activity.

This is a hands‑on, end‑to‑end events role, covering a wide range of formats including high‑profile client events, seminars, roundtables and smaller hospitality‑led initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with BD colleagues, partners and key internal stakeholders, and will play a visible role in creating well‑run, thoughtful and professional client experiences.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver a broad programme of client events for the London office, ranging from large‑scale events to smaller, targeted formats
  • Work closely with BD colleagues and partners to shape event concepts that are client‑focused and aligned to wider objectives
  • Manage the full event lifecycle, including planning, logistics, delivery and post‑event evaluation
  • Take ownership of event budgets, supplier management and cost control
  • Manage all event‑related communications, from invitations through to post‑event follow‑up and internal promotion
  • Maintain accurate event records, mailing lists and data using CRM and related systems
  • Capture feedback and assess event outcomes to inform future planning and improvements
  • Oversee conference attendance, sponsorships, hospitality and related activity
  • Manage event materials, merchandise and collateral, ensuring quality and consistency
  • Build strong relationships with venues and external suppliers
  • Share best practice and collaborate with colleagues across marketing and events internationally

Person specification

  • Experience delivering events within a professional services environment
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with senior stakeholders and external suppliers
  • Practical, calm and solutions‑focused, particularly in live event environments
  • Experience managing budgets and evaluating event outcomes
  • Confident using CRM systems and standard productivity tools, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiar with virtual and hybrid event platforms
