European Accounting Manager

Totum Partners are delighted to be working with an elite global law firm to assist them in their search for an European Accounting Manager. This role will be responsible for the accounting records for the European offices and UK LLP accounts preparation and audit.

 

The main accounting duties for this role include the preparation of UK LLP accounts and to act as main point of contact during the audit, reviewing and approving journal entries for European offices and the review and approval of balance sheet and bank reconciliations. The European Accounting Manager will also support the European Finance Director of Finance in the firm wide budget process and the management of cash balances for European offices.

 

The main tax duties for this role include supporting the preparation and review of tax returns and payments for the Firm’s European offices, including the monitoring of deadlines. There will also be a focus on collaborating with members of the tax department in the preparation and review of US tax returns as they relate to European tax implications and you will also review monthly VAT reconciliations and compile and file quarterly VAT returns in a timely and accurate manner.

 

The applicant should be a qualified Accountant with a minimum of seven years’ experience within the legal sector or wider professional services. You must be able to demonstrate diplomacy and confidentiality, and have the ability to facilitate discussions while taking a strategic view of the business and impact on Finance. Strong awareness of European and Cross Border tax matters is required, with experience in understanding complex and diverse business requirements. Solicitor Accounts Rules experience is desirable but not essential.
