The firm has a track record for innovation and delivering value to clients through new ways of working and its business services groups provide integrated support for their global operations. Knowledge Management (KM) is one of those groups and this Director role is a newly created position.
Reporting to the firm’s recently appointed Chief Operating Officer (another newly created position), and leading the development of the function, including PSLs and Information Services (c20 roles in total), this role has been created to help maximise the value of the firm’s knowledge resources through ensuring KM best practice (both internally and externally) and for providing leadership and strategic direction to the KM function across all offices as well as to Practice Group Heads.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
- Developing, implementing, and managing the firm’s KM strategy and ensuring its effective communication to key stakeholders, monitoring this on an on-going basis to ensure the function is delivering for all offices irrespective of size and legal jurisdiction.
- Working closely with their team to ensure the function is continuously aspiring to deliver ‘best in class’ knowledge, products, solutions, information services, training and know-how.
- Developing credible and effective relationships with partners, Group Heads, Sector Heads and other senior stakeholders and colleagues to drive the delivery of the knowledge strategy.
- Reviewing legal content provision and developing and implementing a digital content management strategy; and with Solutions (the firm’s innovation team) and the IT function, driving the digital transformation of the firm’s knowledge.
- Actively identifying opportunities for cross-functional collaboration with other business services functions. This includes working closely with the Marketing & Business Development function and Solutions team to spot opportunities such as client-facing content and training and producing thought leadership pieces.
- Building an external profile with clients and other knowledge leaders in the legal sector to deliver the knowledge objectives and goals of the firm.
