Totum is partnering with a leading law firm to recruit a Credit Controller. This role works closely with partners and fee earners to identify priorities, guide action, and deliver insights that support strong financial performance.

This is a hybrid role with 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing debt and lockup across key practice areas
  • Working with stakeholders to drive cash collection
  • Leading aged debt reviews and follow-up plans
  • Owning credit control for key client accounts
  • Resolving partner and client debt queries
  • Supporting invoicing, e-billing, and payment issues
  • Providing updates in partner and Finance meetings
  • Delivering training to boost billing confidence
  • Helping shape working capital policies
  • Contributing to EMEA credit control initiatives
  • Training teams on First Finance tools
  • Identifying and improving cash flow processes
  • Advising on payment terms and pricing compliance

The ideal Credit Controller will have:

  • Strong credit control experience in a law firm - Essential 
  • Proven ability to work closely with partners and fee earners
  • Experience using legal finance systems like SAP, Aderant, or Elite
  • Excellent communication skills for influencing senior stakeholders and clients
  • Commercial understanding of working capital, lockup, and profitability
  • Confidence to challenge and engage under pressure with resilience
  • A continuous improvement mindset with attention to detail
