Clients & Markets Analyst

Leading global law firm

London based

Hybrid working, 4 days in office, 1 day from home

 

My client is a leading international law firm with a global network of offices and a high-profile corporate client base. They are seeking a Clients & Markets Analyst who can deliver commercially focused insight that strengthens client strategy and supports growth across key markets. This role sits within a collaborative client and markets function and offers significant exposure to colleagues across London, New York and APAC.

 

The successful candidate will play a central role in gathering, analysing and translating market and client intelligence into clear, practical recommendations that inform planning, client engagement and go to market initiatives.

 

This is a hands-on analytical role where accuracy, curiosity and commercial thinking are essential. The focus will be on:

 

Client and market insight

  • Building a strong understanding of strategic clients and priority market segments.
  • Tracking developments across corporate sectors, transactions and wider market themes.
  • Providing concise, well evidenced briefings that support partner preparation and client conversations.
  • Monitoring competitor activity and emerging trends relevant to key practice groups.

 

Data, reporting and analysis

  • Maintaining dashboards and trackers that offer a clear view of client activity and engagement.
  • Analysing pitch, client and market data to support planning and performance discussions.
  • Translating complex information into clear narratives, themes and recommendations for leadership.
  • Ensuring accuracy, consistency and strong data hygiene across systems.

 

Cross regional collaboration

  • Working closely with colleagues in New York and APAC to align intelligence coverage and priorities.
  • Sharing insight, tools and approaches across regions to support global consistency.
  • Supporting initiatives that strengthen knowledge sharing and research processes firmwide.

 

Supporting strategic programmes

  • Contributing to key client programmes through research, analysis and preparation of materials.
  • Providing insight to support sector and go to market initiatives.
  • Helping shape planning discussions with practical, commercially relevant intelligence.

 

About You

 

My client is looking for someone who brings strong analytical capability, curiosity and a collaborative working style. You will have:

  • Experience in research, insights or business development within a law firm, financial services or wider professional services environment.
  • Experience working with corporate sector data, trends or clients.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills with the ability to turn data into actionable insight.
  • Familiarity with tools such as PitchBook, Capital IQ, Refinitiv or Bloomberg.
  • Excellent organisation and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • A proactive, confident approach when working with colleagues across offices and regions.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with interest in automation, data visualisation or scripting seen as a plus.

 

This role is based in London, with a hybrid pattern of Monday to Thursday in the office and the option to work from home on Fridays.
