My client is a forward‑thinking legal business with a strong focus on relationships and client experience. The Client Development Manager will help strengthen key client relationships, ensuring teams have the insight, structure and support needed to deliver consistent, value‑driven client development activity.

 

Role Overview

The Client Development Manager will support the development and management of priority clients, working closely with partners, client teams and colleagues across the business development group. The role encompasses account planning, client insight, relationship mapping, client listening activity and supporting client‑focused initiatives across the business. It suits someone who is proactive, curious about clients and markets, and confident working with senior stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate client development activity, including planning discussions, development calls and follow‑up actions
  • Maintain and evolve account plans, relationship summaries, team sheets, relationship maps, welcome packs and related materials
  • Support client listening activity, interpret feedback and ensure insight is reflected in plans and shared appropriately
  • Undertake client listening directly and build relationships with key contacts alongside Client Partners
  • Track client and market developments and commission research to support account strategy
  • Build a strong understanding of clients to identify opportunities for growth and cross selling
  • Support secondees with guidance, briefings and structured feedback processes
  • Assist client teams with development projects such as events, panel sessions and client‑led initiatives
  • Deliver training on relationship management tools and best practice
  • Contribute to internal communication of client activity and key updates
  • Promote consistent, client‑centred working practices across teams

 

Person Specification

  • Experience in client relationship management within professional services
  • Strong research skills and experience supporting or managing client plans
  • High attention to detail and the ability to work proactively and independently
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills with strong stakeholder engagement
  • Commercially aware, solutions‑focused and committed to delivering excellent client service
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office; CRM experience such as InterAction is an advantage
