We are delighted to be working on an exclusive basis with a progressive, award winning, forward-thinking Consultancy firm who are looking to hire a talented, commercially savvy Business Development Manager in a newly created role based in London.


This firm is well established and has built a strong reputation and client base. They are entering an exciting period of growth, and this Business Development Manager role will play an integral part in the next chapter for the business.


Reporting directly into the Managing Director, the Business Development Manager will take ownership of driving the growth, client acquisition, client retention and revenue generation initiatives for the firm, leading on the planning and delivery of business development activities to ensure that the key objectives of the firm are achieved.


The business has a wonderful culture that is supportive, collaborative, down to earth and friendly. They have an innovative, entrepreneurial mindset and encourage creative thinking and new ideas. Their client portfolio comprises of SME’s across all sectors who partner with my client on a range of projects from branding and marketing initiatives to change management programmes.


Due to the newly created nature of this Business Development Manager, and the firm’s upward trajectory, this role offers an excellent opportunity for long term progression and would suit a strong Sales or Account Manager looking for a new challenge that offers lots of opportunity and autonomy. Previous experience of selling a service within a professional services environment will be the key to success in this role.


The remit of this Business Development role will include:


  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to identify growth opportunities across service lines and support strategic business planning projects aligned to those growth aspirations.
  • Developing a deep understanding of existing and target clients and markets, building relationships to spot opportunities for revenue generation.
  • Building a strong referral network to identify new opportunities, attending networking meetings and events.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to align business development initiatives with overarching business objectives, sharing knowledge and insight.
  • Preparing and delivering impactful client presentations, proposals and pitches to potential clients.
  • Supporting the firms marketing initiatives including targeting marketing campaigns, event coordination and client listening activities.
  • Managing the end-to-end sales process, from initial contact to contract negotiations and closure.
  • Tracking and reporting on pipeline activity and revenue forecasts.
  • Working with clients and stakeholders to gain feedback to enhance service offerings and client satisfaction.


The successful candidate for this Business Development Manager role will need:


  • Previous sales/business development experience gained within a professional services environment.
  • Strong commercial thinking, able to translate business issues and client developments into opportunities.
  • Excellent networking skills.
  • Exceptional influencing and persuasion skills.
  • Experience of working proactively with a solutions driven, growth mindset environment, with the ability to identify key priorities and manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent relationship building and communication skills, with the ability to provide a high level of commercial insight.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
