BD Executive/Senior Executive (depending on experience)

Location: Guildford. Hybrid working (minimum two days per week in the office)

 

My client, a highly regarded law firm, is seeking a business development and client services professional to join their Business Development & Marketing team. This role offers the chance to make a real impact by supporting the development and delivery of best practice initiatives across the firm’s client portfolio, championing a client-first approach and helping to embed high-value programmes and strategies.

 

You’ll work closely with senior members of the BD & Marketing team, practice group leaders, and partners to help shape a fully integrated, strategic and client-focused function. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing fresh ideas, driving change, and supporting the growth of a collaborative and innovative business development culture.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support managers, practice group heads and partners in delivering business development plans
  • Contribute to key client management and client development frameworks
  • Assist with client segmentation and prioritisation to identify and nurture profitable relationships
  • Help implement structured client feedback programmes and translate insights into actionable improvements
  • Support the preparation of tenders and proposals
  • Aid in the rollout of practical tools for client planning, engagement, and relationship tracking
  • Promote effective use of CRM systems to maximise client engagement and reporting
  • Foster a client-first culture across all BD & Marketing activities
  • Monitor market developments and assess their impact on clients
  • Assist with horizon scanning to keep clients informed of legal and regulatory changes
  • Maintain and develop sales collateral to support cross-selling and business growth
  • Support campaigns aimed at winning new work from existing and prospective clients
  • Contribute to the organisation and delivery of client events
  • Assist with legal directory submissions

 

Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience in business development within a law firm or professional services environment
  • Solutions-focused, with a passion for delivering outstanding client service
  • Creative and innovative, able to bring new ideas and drive initiatives
  • Strong understanding of the legal sector and market trends
  • Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable managing a varied workload
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Skilled at stakeholder management and building collaborative relationships
  • Exceptional writing skills and attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Highly organised, with strong project management abilities
  • Commercially aware and able to add value proactively
  • Positive team player, committed to supporting a people-focused culture
