We are seeking to appoint a Business Development & Marketing Director who will play a lead role in contributing to the strategic direction of the business. The role will be based in Edinburgh. The successful candidate will be responsible for innovating, challenging and implementing strategies to enhance our market presence, attract new clients and build strong relationships with existing ones. This position requires a blend of strategic thinking, creativity, and hands-on execution to achieve our business growth objectives, as well as the ability to lead a large and growing team of subject area specialists. The Business Development & Marketing team (totalling 40 colleagues) is split into five specialisms: business development, bids, client engagement, marketing and communications. Client services and front of house services in our offices also sits under this remit. The team provides a wide range of services which assist the firm in implementing our ambitious strategic plans (currently in the first year of a 3-year strategic business cycle) and delivering our brand promise of "Enlightened Thinking". Client engagement and brand perception are at the heart of everything we do. Our goal is to ensure every interaction with Brodies leaves clients and contacts feeling enriched and eager for further engagement. The role will report to the Managing Partner and will play a critical role in the senior management group and on the operational board.
This will be a demanding role, working with a wide range of senior stakeholders who have differing needs. Suitable candidates will need to be robust, driven and energetic. High levels of creativity and empathy are also critically important.
