I am currently working with a leading global law firm and assisting with the recruitment of a Business Analyst. The Business Analyst (BA) will play a pivotal role as a business partner, focused on delivering change and ensuring continuity. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for problem-solving, the BA will help to drive transformation within finance.

When it comes to change, the BA is at the forefront. They will contribute to or manage ad hoc Finance or Finance-affected projects, starting from initial ideation and carrying through to requirements gathering, proposal, design, and successful delivery. Collaborating with teams across the global Finance function and support departments, the BA will understand business needs, aiming to improve accuracy, efficiency, and controls. They will also contribute to the opening and setup of new operations as well as the restructuring of existing business units. The BA goes the extra mile by supporting and training finance and other personnel worldwide on specialist subjects. Additionally, they will be required to actively participate in practice management system upgrade projects, ensuring seamless testing, training, and documentation. Their contribution to the Information Delivery team helps guide the direction of internal and external reporting.

The BA will be a subject matter expert, providing valuable expertise to stakeholders across the business. They keep a pulse on current and future accounting and tax requirements worldwide, translating them into practical procedures and system processes. Meticulously stewarding practice management system configurations, the BA will ensure the integrity of data used for management reporting. With a firm grasp of the budget, month-end, and year-end management/financial accounts preparation process, the BA provides essential support to the Group Reporting Team. They collaborate seamlessly with fellow Business Analysts, providing cover and fostering a spirit of teamwork. Building and maintaining relationships with Finance staff, the BA offers assistance in their education and promotes best practices and procedures aligned with global finance policies.

Applicants should ideally be members of a recognized accounting body as qualified accountants or those with extensive proven experience as BAs. A degree or equivalent education is preferred, as is experience working with finance transactional systems as an administrative user. Proficiency in SQL is an advantage. Previous work experience in a multinational Finance function is a plus, as is a background in a law firm or professional services. Familiarity with the Thomson Reuters Elite 3E Finance system would be beneficial to excel in this role.
