Business Development Manager – Life Sciences

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced, dynamic Business Development Manager to join a top global law firm’s Life Sciences sector. Working with the Group Lead and wider BD team, you will be supporting the implementation of the Life Sciences & Big Pharma’s business development plans across all UK and International offices, with the aim of driving profitability and growth.

Additional key responsibilities include:

  • Advising on the strategic positioning of the Life Sciences Sector & Big Pharma
  • Line managing the Senior Business Development Executive – ensuring the Firm’s nurturing and structured environment helps them excel
  • Sharing best practice and coordinating BD activities to facilitate collaborative working between Practices and Sectors
  • Client targeting, developing thought leadership campaigns, measuring tactical activity and encouraging strategic alliances
  • Providing a lead advisory and ‘hands-on’ role in coordinating and shaping proposals and credential statements
  • Managing the Sector’s client relationship programme
  • Overseeing firm wide BD activities such as legal directory submissions, web site material, creds database and case study material
  • Lead formulation and management of the BD budget for the Life Sciences Sector Group

Essential experience

  • Ideally 2-3 years in a management role, within a professional services/partnership environment
  • Team management experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - able to influence/advise senior stakeholders
