Business Development Manager – Litigation

We are pleased to be partnering with this leading global law firm to assist them in their search for a talented, innovative BD Manager to join their highly regarded Litigation team based in London.

The BD & Marketing team are very friendly and inclusive. They are well regarded by stakeholders and have a real seat at the table. The successful candidate for this BD Manager role will act as a true business partner to the Litigation practice, with a group of extremely engaged partners and fee earners. The Litigation team are renowned for the work they do for their clients, often working on challenging, complex (and hugely interesting) cases. Clients span a range of sectors and range from large multinational corporations to charities.

 

The remit of this BD Manager role is varied and will include:

 

  • Close collaboration with senior stakeholders to develop a BD and marketing strategy for the Litigation group
  • Supporting partners with developing existing client and intermediary relationships
  • Providing client and market intelligence through research, advising on trends, sector hot topics, competitor analysis and growth opportunities
  • Working closely with key internal business services teams such as communications, PR, marketing, brand and digital to manage new announcements, press releases and digital marketing campaigns, producing content and tracking impact and engagement
  • Project management of proposals and submissions for the group, supported by the wider team
  • Producing impactful event concepts, working closely with the event team to support a range of events and sponsorship opportunities globally
  • Working with stakeholders to update marketing collateral, website content and bios
  • Management of the practice group budget and ad-hoc projects/initiatives

 

My client is looking for a candidate who has strong business development experience gained in a law firm environment. Experience of working in a Litigation team would be highly beneficial, however, candidates with other practice group experience and a keen interest in the Litigation world will be considered.

 

This would be an ideal opportunity for an experience BD Manager looking for a new challenge, or a Senior BD Executive who is working at the top of their game and looking for a step up.

 

Strong communication skills are essential for this role, along with excellent relationship building skills, the ability to act as a trusted advisor and the gravitas to influence and positively challenge the status quo.

 

The ability to work creatively and bring innovative ideas to the table will be encouraged so its essential that candidates have a highly commercial approach, with the ability to horizon scan and ‘join the dots.’
