As part of continued investment in its business development and marketing capability, the firm is now looking to appoint a Business Development & Marketing Manager. Reporting to the Director of Business Development & Marketing, this role will play a central part in shaping and delivering the firm’s BD and marketing strategy, with a particular focus on its core technology, media and entertainment practices.
This is a visible and influential role, combining strategic leadership with hands‑on delivery, and offering the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the firm’s long‑term growth.
The role
As a senior member of the Business Development & Marketing team, the Business Development & Marketing Manager will work closely with partners and other key stakeholders to drive client development, profile‑raising and market positioning initiatives. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and delivering BD and marketing plans across a number of practice groups, sector initiatives and firm‑wide projects
- Acting as a trusted adviser to partners and senior stakeholders, aligning BD and marketing activity with the firm’s strategic priorities
- Managing and developing members of the BD & Marketing team, ensuring consistently high standards of output and collaboration
- Driving strategic initiatives that enhance the firm’s profile, client engagement and visibility across key sectors
- Overseeing the delivery of pitches, proposals and credentials, ensuring a tailored and compelling approach
- Ensuring events, thought leadership and client communications are delivered to a high standard and fully leveraged
- Using data and insight to track performance, identify opportunities and inform future BD and marketing activity
- Working closely with communications colleagues to align practice‑level initiatives with firm‑wide PR, digital and profile‑raising activity
About you
This role would suit an experienced BD and marketing professional who is comfortable operating at a senior level within a law firm or professional services environment. You are likely to bring:
- Significant experience in a business development and marketing role, ideally within legal or professional services
- Strong strategic thinking capability, with the ability to translate firm and practice priorities into actionable plans
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with credibility and confidence when working with partners and senior colleagues
- Proven experience leading and mentoring others, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing team culture
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging and commercially focused content
- Experience delivering pitches, events, campaigns and profile‑raising initiatives that support business growth
- A good understanding of, or strong interest in, the technology, media and entertainment sectors
- Advanced IT skills, particularly across Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with experience of CRM and marketing systems beneficial
- A proactive, adaptable and solutions‑focused approach, comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
