My client is a well-established, internationally recognised law firm with a strong market presence and an impressive portfolio of clients. Due to continued growth and success, the firm is looking for a talented and dynamic BD to join their highly respected, friendly and supportive BD team in London, focusing on supporting the growth of the Financial Institutions group in EMEA, as well as collaborating with global colleague on firm wide initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic business development initiatives to support revenue growth and raise the profile of the group.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the group’s business and client base, using market insights to inform and drive effective BD activities and spot opportunities.
- Build and nurture strong working relationships with partners, lawyers, and colleagues across the group and other practice areas.
- Manage the preparation of engaging, tailored pitches, proposals, and marketing materials for new business opportunities.
- Manage 2 junior team members, providing coaching and mentoring.
- Facilitate cross-selling and profile-raising activities in line with the firm’s strategic objectives.
- Track and report on the effectiveness and return on investment of BD activities.
- Project manage submissions for major awards and legal directories, ensuring the group’s achievements are accurately represented.
- Coordinate and plan events, conferences, and sponsorships, ensuring budget adherence and effective ROI analysis.
- Support the integration of lateral partners and leverage firm-wide capabilities for new client opportunities.
- Ensure consistent messaging across all marketing communications channels and identify PR opportunities in key industry publications.
- Contribute to other marketing initiatives and responsibilities as required.
Person Specification:
- Minimum of five years’ business development experience within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Demonstrable experience and genuine interest in financial services.
- Strong professional judgement, with the ability to interact confidently and professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborative, resourceful, and proactive, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, self-directed, and able to manage multiple projects and competing priorities under tight deadlines.
- Client focused mindset, delivering high-quality service and solutions.
- Experience managing or mentoring junior team members and collaborating on key projects and initiatives.
- Willingness to work in the office at least three days per week, with occasional travel and flexibility for meetings and events.
