Business Development & Marketing Manager – Regulatory Consultancy (Financial Services)

Location: Birmingham or Manchester

Hybrid – typically 2 days in office, with monthly travel to London (expenses covered)

This BD Manager role sits within the Litigation & Dispute Management practice, specifically supporting the Financial Services Disputes & Investigations team.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced business development professional to join a fast-paced and high-profile practice. You’ll work closely with partners and senior stakeholders across Birmingham, Manchester, and London, helping to drive strategic initiatives, support client development, and deliver impactful events and campaigns. The Financial Services Disputes & Investigations team is one of the most active and visible practices in the firm. From high-profile events to strategic client development, you’ll be at the heart of a fast-moving and commercially focused group.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Work closely with the Senior BD & Marketing Manager to help formulate and drive forward the marketing strategy for the practice.
  • Lead on the development, implementation and delivery of thought leadership campaigns and marketing initiatives using the full range of routes to market.
  • Produce and update best in class, practice-based marketing collateral.
  • Project manage and deliver client facing events, from large conferences to intimate dinners, tracking ROI and focusing on KPIs.
  • Support lawyers and PSLs on delivery of relevant client facing legal updates and briefings, implementing best practice and tracking client engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with other support functions internationally to provide a seamless service to the business.
  • Support key partners and stakeholders in client targeting and business development initiatives.

 

 

 

 

Skills and Experience

 

  • Experience in a BD and marketing role, ideally within a law firm or a professional services firm.
  • Experience in delivering, or supporting the delivery of marketing plans, campaigns and initiatives including strategic events, creation and activation of thought leadership, marketing communications and business development activities.
  • Ability to prioritise the right activities that deliver value to the business.
  • Ability to use influencing skills to gain credibility with stakeholders across all levels of seniority within the firm.
  • Sharp analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the market. You will interpret legal and client specific issues in order to devise effective approaches, taking into account client perspectives.
