Business Development Manager – Regulatory Consultancy (Financial Services)
London (Hybrid working – 2 days office / 3 days home)

My client is a multi-award-winning consultancy offering expert guidance across the financial services sector. Their work spans financial crime, investments, payments, credit, insurance, and transformation. They are seeking a commercially minded Business Development Manager to help grow their client base and strengthen long-term relationships.
This BD Manager role involves identifying new opportunities, initiating conversations with potential clients, and supporting the development of tailored compliance solutions. You’ll work closely with internal specialists and senior leadership to ensure the firm’s services are positioned effectively in a competitive and evolving market.
Key Responsibilities
Client Acquisition & Lead Generation
- Identify and engage with prospective clients
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact to closing deals
- Explore new markets and cross-selling opportunities
- Initiate outreach via calls, emails, and networking events
- Arrange meetings with decision-makers
- Maintain accurate records of activity and progress using HubSpot
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Monitor client satisfaction and identify opportunities for upselling
- Liaise with internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery
- Track and report on pipeline activity, revenue forecasts, and feedback
Partnership & Internal Collaboration
- Understand the target markets and sales strategies of each internal team
- Identify areas for improvement in current sales processes
- Work closely with marketing to develop new approaches
- Support internal communication and performance tracking
Consultative Sales
- Develop a deep understanding of each team’s services and offerings
- Tailor sales approaches for different consultancy levels
- Lead presentations, webinars, and discovery meetings
- Address client concerns and support negotiations to close deals
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in business development or sales, ideally within financial services or consultancy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence in managing a varied workload and adapting to change
- Ability to build trust and credibility with clients and internal teams
- Comfortable using CRM tools (HubSpot experience a plus)
- A proactive mindset and enthusiasm for ethical business practices
