We are delighted to be partnering a dynamic international law firm, seeking a proactive Business Development Manager to join their Corporate Group based in London, looking after their European and Middle East jurisdictions.
The firm has an excellent reputation, high performing teams and an innovative approach. The marketing and BD team are highly regarded internally and externally and stakeholders value their input greatly.
The remit for this Business Development Manager role will include:
- Collaborate with key stakeholders on firmwide business development activities, maintaining strong working relationships and high levels of interaction.
- Drive brand positioning initiatives, including managing strategic conference sponsorships, client presentations, seminars, and webinars.
- Prepare tailored, compelling pitches and responses for new business opportunities and requests for information and proposals. Develop practice-related pitch materials and ensure follow-up with clients post-pitch.
- Conduct market research and client analysis to identify industry trends, new business opportunities, and synergies with other practice and industry areas.
- Liaise with Client Intelligence to prepare research supporting cross-selling efforts for existing and prospective clients.
- Draft and edit marketing collateral and facilitate updates to the firm website and intranet.
- Manage submissions for major awards and legal directories.
- Identify and pursue PR opportunities in key legal trade and industry publications and surveys.
- Supervise one BD Executive in London.
The successful candidate for this role will have:
- At least 5 years of business development experience, with demonstrated project leadership, gained in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills to handle competing deadlines and priorities.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to quickly learn new database systems.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and self-directed with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities under tight deadlines.
- Comfortable establishing effective firmwide working relationships with individuals at all levels.
- Strong organisational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
